Configuring Windows XP PPP dialup connections for Domain Name Service

Please print out these instructions and follow the steps on your computer.

NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT MAKE ANY OTHER CHANGES TO YOUR CONFIGURATION THAN THOSE SPECIFIED IN THESE INSTRUCTIONS.

Illustrated instructions

1. Go to Start/Control Panel.
2. Open up Network Connections.
3. Right-click on the TTUnet icon and select Properties
4. Click on the Networking tab.
5. Double-click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
6. Modify the Preferred DNS server and  Alternate DNS server numbers as shown.
   

   • Preferred DNS server: 129.118.1.3

   • Alternate DNS server: 129.118.1.9
     

7. Click the OK button.
8. Click the OK button on the properties window.

1. Click on Start and open Control Panel.

   

    

2. Double Click on Network Connections

   

    

3. Right-click on the TTUnet icon and select Properties.

   

    

4. Click on the Networking tab.
5. Double-click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).

   

    

6. Modify the Preferred DNS server and  Alternate DNS server numbers as shown.
   

   • Preferred DNS server: 129.118.1.3

   • Alternate DNS server: 129.118.1.9
     

7.  Click on the OK button.

8.  Click the OK button on the properties window.
