IP Addressing

This section contains TTUnet IP network addressing standards. If you have questions about the standards contained herein, please contact the Director of Telecommunications.

• All IPv4 and IPv6 addresses are centrally managed by TTUnet Network Operations and are assigned to all network attached devices via DHCP. Device names are dynamically added to DNS in the form hostname.ttu.edu.
• Mission-critical servers located in one of the University's data centers will be assigned IP addresses via DHCP and the hostname will be dynamically added to DNS. 
• Specific research equipment with embedded operating systems may need to be manually assigned IP addresses. Please submit a Network Service Request.
