Configuring Windows XP Ethernet connection for Domain Name Service


Please print out these instructions and follow the steps on your computer.

NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT MAKE ANY OTHER CHANGES TO YOUR CONFIGURATION THAN THOSE SPECIFIED IN THESE INSTRUCTIONS.

Illustrated instructions

  1. Click on Start, and open up the Control Panel.
  2. Double-click on Network Connections.
  3. Right-click on the TTUnet icon and select Properties.
  4. Click on the General tab.  Double-click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
  5. In the TCP/IP Properties window, type in the DNS IP addresses 129.118.1.3 (Preferred) and 129.118.1.9 (Alternate).
  6. Click on the OK button.
  7. Click the OK button on the properties window.

3.  Right-click on the TTUnet icon and select Properties.

4.  Click on the General tab.  Double-click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).

5.  In the TCP/IP Properties window, type in the DNS IP addresses 129.118.1.3 (Preferred) and 129.118.1.9 (Alternate).

6.  Click on the OK button.

7. Click the OK button on the properties window.
